The English Rose serves tea in true 'British style'. The tea comes in a proper teapot, steaming from the freshly drawn and boiled water, and accompanied by low fat milk so as not to overpower the delicious brown nectar! These little touches are so very important, and make all the difference when taking the first sip from that anticipated cup. Angela, the owner, doesn't take any short cuts on the menu either. They don't serve 'fake' cream with the scones, it's the real Double Devon, and if you order a British Banger, by golly that’s what you get! There are enough items on the carefully chosen menu to satisfy all, even the less adventurous. Although the ambiance is reminiscent of the elegance expected in tearooms of 'yesteryear'....no feather bowers, posh hats or gloves required here...just sit, relax and enjoy a traditional experience, with an honest to goodness, 'pukka cuppa'!
