Whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River is a great way to experience the outdoors just outside Chattanooga! Sunburst Adventures originated whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River and has been the area’s premier whitewater outfitter since 1976. Located within an hours drive of downtown Chattanooga hotels, the Ocoee is a great day trip to the Cherokee National Forest east of Chattanooga. Sunburst Adventures offers whitewater rafting on the Class III-IV water of the Middle and Upper Ocoee River for the adventure seeker from March to November. The Middle Ocoee trip may be the most famous whitewater trip in the southeast. Five miles of almost continuous rapids offer splashes and thrills from start to finish. The Middle Ocoee is available on spring and fall weekends and Thursday through Monday during the summer. Want even more action? Try out the Upper Ocoee river and challenge America’s Olympic river! Sunburst also offers relaxing tubing trips on the slower moving Class I-II waters of the Ocoee below lake Ocoee on Sundays through Friday during the summer months.
