The 2nd Annual Raisin Hope Ride, scheduled for October 4th - 5th, adds on two new events this year. The Raisin Hope Bicycle Ride will be followed by the Tour de Downtown Dalton Crit and a 5K Run / 3K Walk.

All events benefit the Raisin Hope Foundation, created to build awareness, and generate hope, for those suffering from brain injuries.

About Raisin Hope:

The Raisin Hope Foundation was founded by Saul Raisin of Dalton, Georgia. Just a few years ago, young Saul, a professional cyclist, was making quite the name for himself in the world of cycling. As many other professional cyclists began to take notice of Raisin's determination and talent, young riders aspired to emulate him. His career seemed unstoppable, as Raisin continued competing and ranking in some of the toughest races around the world. It was during one such race that Raisin's career came to a crashing hault. Saul crashed during the Tour de France in April of 2006.

It was only after Raisin awoke from a four-week coma, that he began his toughest up-hill climb yet. Doctors told the young rider he would probably never walk again, much less ride a bike. Raisin was determined more than ever to overcome the odds against him. And, he did just that... After months of intensive mental and physical therapy, Saul did walk again... A few months later, he rode a bike again. Now, Raisin is not only back on the roads on a regular basis, he's competing in rides and triathlons across the country. Raisin's goal is to take on the Tour de France again, and, this time, win.

While he continues his therapy, conditioning, and training, Raisin also strives to help others with the same struggles. That's why he founded the Raisin Hope Foundation, to promote awareness about brain injuries, and to create hope that those suffering from brain injuries.
