The kayakers should arrive at Ross' Landing around 1:30-2pm. Petty and Akridge launched at the mouth of the Holston River on Sunday, April 20th. Petty is sending daily reports to Outdoor Chattanooga as the team makes its way to Padukah, Kentucky. For more information: Ruth Cartlidge Thompson (423) 643-6889

Local kayakers will join Soddy-Daisy native Dave Petty, and his partner, Andrew Akridge, as they lock though Chickamauga on the journey to kayak the length of the Tennessee River. Petty and Akridge are expected to lock though the Chickamauga Dam at 11:30am on Wednesday, April 30th, and then make their way to Downtown Chattanooga.
