doggie_paddle_pic1.jpgThe McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center hosts the 5th Annual Doggie Paddle to offer another canine-friendly pool party this year. Owners can bring their pups to swim during the afternoon of Saturday, September 6th, from noon-3pm.

The Chattanooga Park and Recreation Department closes the pool down to the genral public for these special events, and, yes, cleans them thouroughly immediately after Doggie Paddle, and before reopening to the general public. 

Pet owners can bring their canine pals to swim at the Hamilton YMCA Pool on September 6th. The Hamilton YMCA Pool is located at the former site of the Turner Club, about two from the Hamilton YMCA Building, at 7430 Shallowford Road.

Pet owners should bring a 10 dollar entrance fee for each of their canine pals, which will be used to support the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center. Goody bags will be delved out until gone, and are included in the price of admission.

Doggie Paddle 2008 Rules:

-Owners must accompany their dogs... One adult is recommend for up to two dogs.

-Only dogs and their owners are allowed in the pool. Dogs must be on a leash while outside the pool.

-Dogs must display a current rabies tags on their collar.

-Owners must clean up after their dogs. Bags are provided.

-Children must not be left unattended.

-Pet owners should bring their own towels.

-Aggressive dogs (and people) will be asked to leave.
